Play Ball!

A Strike on a Wild Pitch/Passed Ball

When a batter swings at a wild pitch or passed ball, and it is not strike three, then it's just another strike. The base runner needs to decide if they want to try to advance, and the defense has to figure out whether or not they want to actually go after those runners. Many times, they won't really have the opportunity to; if the ball gets far enough away, the runners will just take a base, and everyone resets afterward. But if the defense gets a chance, they can alway try to get an out, and the logic becomes exactly the same as you would see for a stolen base attempt.
